You encourage one another to write with regularity and provide honest feedback critical to the writing process and the writer’s own creativity, growth and development. Discover how to find and select the right writing buddy for you. Learn to nurture a writing buddy relationship, which topics are critical to cover with your buddy, how to work through breakdowns and handle possible conflicts, if they occur, critiquing methods and more. Jeanne Emrich, poet and artist, is president of the Minnesota Branch of the National League of American Penwomen. She has taught the Japanese forms of haiku and tanka at The Loft, and her tanka sequences have been composed for and performed by Minnesota choral groups. One, Fallen Grasses: A Winter Meditation won National League of American Pen Women’s First Place in Choral Works in the 2008 Biennial Competition. Lone Egret Press published her tanka collection, The Pleiades at Dawn, in 2007.
