Founded in 1984, MIPA exists today as a vibrant professional non-profit association that serves the upper-Midwest independent publishing community through education, networking and peer recognition. It hosts the Annual Midwest Book Awards competition for excellence in books. MIPA is proud to be a regional affiliate of the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA). MIPA members are national award winners, publishers of regional and national books, experienced book designers, editors, indexers, and publicists, innovative entrepreneurs, and publishers and authors of fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, food, travel, inspiration, and many other topics. They are people who love what they’re doing, want to share what they know, and want to learn more. Visitors are welcome to the meetings held on the second Wednesday of the month. Social hour at 6; program starts at 6:30 pm. See website for details about speakers and to read informative articles and learn how you can join and support this work. www.MIPA.org
